Collinite FAQ

Size: 16 oz.

MADE IN USA

Note: During hot climate, the wax may get melted which causes the expansion of the content and that may lead to slight leakage of the bottle during the transit and it’s very normal.

HOW TO USE

The wax is only available in a heavy-duty 16oz bottle that features a safety cap and not having any seal.

The Collinite 845 comes in a thick consistency and in order to get Collinite 845 Liquid Insulator Wax to the thin consistency necessary for the proper application, you may need to melt it by either keeping in the sun or immersing in a hot water bucket (never boil it). Shake the bottle to ensure proper mixture and an even consistency of the product which helps an easy application of the product.

You can pour the melted Collinite 845 in a dispenser bottle for an easy application. The Collinite 845 Liquid Insulator wax goes on thin, thin, thin! It doesn’t take a lot of product and the more you apply, the more difficult it is going to be to wipe off. The amount you see below was enough wax to completely cover the entire quarter panel on a medium-sized car, It takes very little to cover each panel. If you’re going to apply the wax by hand, use a foam wax applicator works best.

The surface should be prepared by removing scratches using GreenZ XtremeCut Compound 350 with GreenZ Compressed Wool Pad or GreenZ Hybrid White Heavy Cutting Foam Pad in case if you have severe scratches.  If the scratches are minimal then use GreenZ HeavyCut Compound 600 with GreenZ Hybrid Orange Medium Cutting Foam Pad. Then refine the paintwork using GreenZ UltraFinish Polish 4500 and GreenZ Hybrid Black Finishing Foam Pad on DA polisher to achieve outstanding gloss level and a mirror finish.

If you’re going to apply the wax by hand, use a foam wax applicator works best.

If you are using a machine, use GreenZ Hybrid Black Finishing Foam Pad and use few drops on the pad. Use low speed while applying by machine. After waxing the entire car, let it dry to a haze for about 40-50 minutes. As the temperature and humidity vary from location to location, you can simply practice the swipe test.

If you’re not familiar with the swipe test, it’s when you swipe your finger across the panel to reveal either shiny paint or a streaky finish. If the wax streaks where you swiped your finger, the wax has not dried completely yet. When the wax swipes clean, meaning the area of wax removed with your finger is clean and shiny, the wax has fully dried to a haze and is ready to be removed with a soft microfiber towel.

Use a microfiber towel (like GreenZ All Purpose towel) with a medium nap to remove the wax. This towel has excellent grip for removing waxes, and it will make application of Insulator Wax even quicker. You will find the wax easiest to remove if you apply a thin coat and do not let it completely haze over before buffing.

If using a machine, use a microfiber bonnet over a lambswool pad to remove Insulator Wax. Apply wax to one section at a time.
